22 Weeks and a BLUE nursery

Man this boy is growing or I'm eating one too many hamburgers;) I feel like my belly has really expanded in the last two weeks and even Chris has noticed the difference. We had our 20 week check up March 7 where we were able to watch little man in all his glory! He is such an active guy..we're gonna have a run for our money when he gets here! When he wasn't bouncing around or moving in circles, he was opening and closing his mouth, sucking his thumb and playing with his feet:) Here are a few pictures from the ultrasound:

Last weekend (10-11), Chris and I went and registered at Babies R Us and Target. It was so much fun getting to see all the items a baby needs and pick out everything blue and green:) Chris and I are apparently very picky individuals and up to that point could not agree on a crib/dresser that we both liked. Well, we had our a-ha! moment that day and both migrated towards the same crib. We both love the Baby Italia - Hamilton crib and dresser set!

Since we were on a roll that day, we decided to find a paint color for the nursery. We found bedding that we like so we tried to match that with our paint color. We went with a sky blue at Home Depot  and took our gallon home to get started! I helped tape the trim while Chris got started painting. I told him we could finish half that night and the rest on Sunday, but he was determined to get it done! We had a blue nursery by the end of the night! Now we're just waiting for the crib and dresser to come in so we can start adding everything and see it really turn into a nursery:)

I'll leave you with a few pictures of the belly. These are between 21 and 22 weeks.

It's a BOY!

Well we are officially PREGNANT! I am currently 20 weeks and we just found out we are expecting a baby boy! To say we are thrilled is an understatement who knew we would even be blessed with a child. Here is a re-cap of the last four months:

November 20: Took 4 at home pregnancy tests...all positive (but those suckers are tricky)!
November 29: Confirmed through blood test that I was indeed pregnant.
December 20: First Doctors appt and ultrasound! We measured right on track at 9 weeks. Baby's HR was 161 bpm:)
January 17: Dreaded blood work but everything came back perfect!
February 14: Second Dr's appt - Dr. confirmed everything was right on track
February 21: Second Ultrasound - baby measured exactly 18 weeks and we found out it's a BOY! We saw baby's heart beating, brain, spine, fingers and toes! Such a blessing everything looked great!

Looking back on the first half of the pregnancy:

LIKES
  • Knowing that God allowed me to carry this sweet boy
  • Seeing the excitement on our families faces
  • Seeing the baby grow through the ultrasounds
  • Feeling the baby move
  • Watching Chris's face light up when he talks about the baby
DISLIKES
  • Not being able to control anything going on with my body
  • Feeling exhausted all the time
  • Stretching, cramping and nausea

Holy Moly Look Who's 30

Yes that's right, Chris just celebrated his 30th Birthday! His actual birthday was on a Tuesday night so we celebrated at home with take-out, cookie cake and presents! He has been wanting new golf shoes for over a year now so I took myself to Academy and found the most beautiful, nike golf shoes there! He was excited, but figured out the surprise before he opened the present. Oh well, the surprise came later that week when I decorated the future baby's room with a few boy things for Chris.

Friday night was Matt's actual 30th birthday so we helped him celebrate in style at Papasitos! To say that this birthday was low-key is still not enough credit since we all thought we would be celebrating in Vegas this year. Matt's wife April is pregnant as well so we are all enjoying this next chapter of life together instead of doubling down or pulling a slot machine:) It was a lot of fun to have everyone together, but if you thought the night ended at ten, boy are you wrong! The guys had the idea for everyone to head to Whiskey River for a little country dancing. Yes..I was the one trying to two-step with a baby bump! Regardless, we all had a blast and even stayed up past midnight?!

Brent, Abbey and Luke came into town for the weekend to join in on the celebration so Saturday was all about family! Of course, it isn't a family get-together without Lupe Tortilla! Chris continued his celebration Saturday night with more mexican food, family, more cookie cake and presents.
