Our Big Boy!

Our sweet boy rolled over for the first time this week! He rolled over all by himself on Monday (10/22) and then again for daddy on Wednesday (10/24)! We were SO excited! He is getting so BIG:) Chris finally caught some sweet gummy grins on camera so I had to include those as well!

ZOO BOO!

Last Friday, Caleb and I were invited to go to Zoo Boo with some of our friends and their little ones. The morning started off a little rough with limited parking, feeding schedules and the crazy heat, but we all ended up enjoying our day!

We started out at the pumpkin patch. I didn't get the best pictures but there were tons of people around and I had a short time to work with. Little man had just woke up from his nap so he was a little groggy:)

After the pumpkin patch, we went to cool off at the cafe and eat lunch. After all of our bellies were full and we had cooled off some, we headed out to the childrens petting zoo and play area. All the big kids had a blast on the playground and jungle gym. We sat in a nice shaded area on the playground and let the kiddos run around while we played with the babies:) Next, we ventured over to the merry-go-round. Sarah and I stayed back with the babies while the mommas and big kids went on the ride. While we were waiting, Caleb was smiling and laughing so I had a mini photoshoot with him in his stroller.

Finally, we started headed back. We stopped to feed the ducks and then the reptile/amphibion exhibit. We had a lot of fun, but next year will be better when little man can participate in some of the activities and sit up to see everything. Happy Fall Y'all!!

Weekend with cousins

Finally after MUCH anticipation we got to meet baby Cori! The Dallas Brewers came into town the last weekend of September for some much needed family time:) It was surreal with us all together after adding three more peeps to the group (including Chad, Jamie's fiancee)! We started off with dinner Friday night and everyone getting their feel of the new babies. It took a little getting used to at first since it's been three years since we've had a baby around. Trying to visit, catch up, and take care of little ones all while eating is a two person job! When Caleb and Cori weren't being held, they were hanging out side by side in their bouncers. They are going to be the best of friends since they are just under a month a part in age! We also got to hang out with Luke who is at such a fun stage! He LOVES the Avengers and was running around playing Captain America, Spiderman, Iron Man..you name it! Uncle Chris loves him some Avengers too so they were like two peas in a pod..Chris loved every second of it!

Saturday started off with a yummy breakfast! Momma Brewer never makes a bad meal and she always has the best strawberries:) Saturday was a laid back, hanging around the house kind of day (the best in my book)! We visited until the Aggie football game came on. Then it was intense football watching and the Aggies won! Luke played and played and played! Poor guy was so pooped, he asked Brent if he could take a nap!

Luke had a photo shoot...

Aunt Jamie loved on Caleb:)

Afterward, we all headed to our house for yummy burgers and hotdogs followed by more football watching. Sadly, I have no pictures from our house. I guess I was too busy running around? It was sad to say goodbye, but luckily we will be seeing more of them shortly for Jamie and Chad's couple's shower, the BIG day (12/7/12) and then Christmas!!

Melcher Wedding

Chris and I were treated to another night out for our good friends Matt and Jenn's wedding. Nana and GiGi came to visit us early in the day and ended up watching little man for us while we went to the wedding. It was beautiful...they thought of everything down to the very last detail. The reception was at the Rainbow Lodge and OMG the food was DELICIOUS!! Glad we got to spend some time with the beautiful couple:)

Jenn was a beautiful bride!!

Date Night

Chris's parents so graciously offered to watch little man while we went out to dinner for our anniversary! Even though we talked a lot about Caleb, it was nice to be in the company of each other and not worry about scarfing food down our throats before the baby wakes up. Papasitos was a yummy treat and as usual we ate way too much salsa..ha!

It's hard to believe that we've been married for three years and are now parents! It's amazing how your life changes for the better with a baby even when life comes at you at full force and makes things twice as hard. We work together as a team and are thankful for each other every day. The sacrifices we have made will only make us stronger in the long run. I love watching Chris take care of our boy. It melts my heart and I've caught myself crying at different times over the bond the two of them have. I love you, Chris! You know my insecurities, faults and tolerances yet you love me unconditionally! Not a day goes by that I don't thank the Lord above for making you my husband. Here's to the next chapter in our lives:)

Thank you Memaw and Granddaddy!

Three months

Holy Cow..our baby is three months (well he's actually 3 1/2 months now but the pictures are at 3 months..ha!). We have a changed baby on our hands. He is no longer fussy and crying all the time and he even SLEEPS THROUGH THE NIGHT..WHAT?! Yes, the week before he turned 3 months our little man started going to bed between 9-10 and sleeping straight through until 5-6..heaven!

He is full of smiles and giggles! He is the happiest bright and early in the morning after his tummy is full. Our little man will kick, squeal, giggle and show off that gummy grin non-stop! It makes it hard to leave you so mommy can get ready for work:( He is also holding his head up more. We're not quite there yet but so close! You are even trying to sit up on your own. Every time I lay you on a pillow, you look like your trying to do a sit-up. We started helping you up to a sitting position and you LOVE to look around at everything. We're still working on tummy time..you don't seem to like it that much. You get really frustrated and start making grunting noises after five minutes, but you can hold your head up and almost push up on your arms.

Daddy gets the BIGGEST gummy-grin smiles out of you! He has little songs he sings and feet movements that get you laughing up a storm. Mommy on the other hand is sticking to patty-cake and wheels on the bus. They make you smile and laugh but not as much as daddy (were working on it)! We also started playing peek-a-boo and you love whenever we sit you on our legs propped up so your close to our faces and we talk or sing silly songs. It seems like you also imitate our smiles. If we smile really big at you, you will give us one right back...melts our hearts every time!

Lisa says you have great days EVERY time I pick you up. All the other kiddos love you! Whenever daddy drops you off in the mornings, they gather around and say "Hi, baby Caleb." Chris even gets hugs from the other kids..he is a hero! Lisa even thinks you are getting a dimple on your right side. Whenever you get to really smiling and laughing she sees it...we're still working on capturing that:)

You still LOVE bath time! You could stay in the bath tub for hours it seems like. We both say you are going to be a swimmer because you kick like CRAZY! You are even pushing your legs against the back of the tub and lifting yourself up. Your entire face lights up as soon as we put you in the tub and you smile and giggle the whole time.

We are loving this stage with you and can't wait to see how much you grow and change next month!

Game Day!

Oh little man you dont stand a chance! This is definitely a sports family and apparently we start em' young! Too bad Sam Houston lost to Baylor:(

Lisa's Little Ones

Well after 8 fortunate and wonderful weeks at home, I finally returned to the work force. We were lucky and found a great in-home child care provider only 5 minutes from our house. Mrs. Lisa is taking care of our little man and so far Caleb is adjusting really well. Chris and I decided, since we have different hours, its easiest if Chris drops him off in the mornings and I pick him up after work. This has helped me so I dont have to ever say goodbye to my baby boy! The first day back was really hard for me! I was good until Lisa sent me a picture of our little man completely happy in his bouncer with a gummy grin on his face. I lost it! Since then, things are much better and were all getting accustomed to our new schedules. Even little man seems to be getting on a schedule which is kind of nice:) We are looking forward to this new season of life as a working family of three. We are trying to make the most of our time together so we dont miss out on anything!

Two Months

Our baby boy is two months old and we are completely smitten with him! We have really seen his personality shine this past month and are so in love:) Caleb is cooing and grinning up a storm! During the day after he eats, he is the happiest boy. He will kick his feet, move his arms all around and talk to us non-stop. He is also following us with his eyes and loves the sunshine and ceiling fans. He is a big fan of the activity mat. He loves to watch the birds spin from the center above him and he hits his arms against the hanging toys (Chris is hoping for a little baseball player or quarterback..ha!). He still loves his bouncer and it has been our saving grace sometimes at night. You love the car and fall asleep everytime we go anywhere! You also like your car seat so much sometimes you will stay sound asleep in your seat hours after we get out of car?!

We are still working on his night time routine. He has been falling asleep between 8-9 pm and sleeping until 12-1 to wake up to eat and then waking up again between 4-5. The colic comes and goes (or were just getting use to it). You'll fall right to sleep for a few days and then we'll have a really rough night where Chris and I are trying everything to calm you down. The refllux is much better with the help of the Prevacid. You've only been on it for three weeks but we can already tell a difference. We're hoping the colic/reflux stage passes soon. Its so hard on us to see you cry with your little tears and all!

Caleb had his two month appointment last Monday and received four shots, three in the leg and one liquid in the mouth. Poor guy took it like a champ! He cried really loud as soon as the nurse poked him but shortly after calmed down. The nurse said that was a sign of a good natured baby:) Our baby weighed 10 pounds 14 ounces (exactly 4 pounds more than his 2 week appoinment) and is 23 inches long.

We are so happy you are a part of our lives! As much as I want to stop time, I can't wait to see what to see what month 3 has in store for us:)

Six Weeks

Little man has had a rough two weeks! Not only does he have colic, but he is now battling with reflux:( I started noticing the signs right around 4 weeks and they just kept getting worse. It's been a battle with feedings and he was making so much noise while nursing that it was waking Chris up at night?! The worst part was when he would scream and start crying but try to eat again because he was starving. No parent wants to see their child suffer like that! Dr. Bishop put him on Prevacid and it seems to help. We still have at least one bad feeding a day where he struggles to eat, but the doctor said to give it two weeks before we try something else. Praying for relief!!

Onto better things, Caleb is smiling at us! Last night when Chris got home from work I was rubbing and blowing on his tummy and he just kept smiling at us with a big ol' grin on his face:) He also smiles a lot when he is sleeping or fading into sleep after he gets a good feeding. It is the sweetest thing to see! I'm still working on capturing one on the camera.

He is out of newborn diapers and into size 1. They are still a little big but the newborn diapers were way too tight! He is also pushing out of his newborn clothes. It makes me sad to know that he's not my tiny baby anymore but happy that he is healthy and growing:)

He is such a strong boy! We were at the Presswood's house for a pre-season Texans game (for the Daddy's) and he was practicing tummy time with Krista. He was kicking and moaning and grunting like he wanted to go somewhere so she put her hands by his feet for him to push against and sure enough he started scooting across the mat! Slow down buddy because I'm not ready for you to be crawling yet!! He can also hold his head up for a while. His favorite thing lately is when you put him over your shoulder like your burping him, he holds his arms out and picks his head up to look around at whatever is behind you. Cracks us up because he has the funniest look on his face:)

Our little monkey LOVES bath time! He just sits back, looks around and is perfectly content. I even caught him checking himself out in the mirror the other day...good heavens!!

I can't wait to see what the next two weeks have in store for us!!

One Month!

Our little monkey is One Month Old today and we are so smitten with him:) Caleb you should know how much you have changed our lives. I know we had a life together before you, but the life we have now just doesn't even compare. We love you so much! Everyday I love you more and more; I didn't know my heart could love so fully and completely. We are so blessed that our Heavenly Father chose us as your parents for your time here on Earth. He could not have given us a more perfect baby.

You are such a sweet baby when you're awake and looking up at us with those baby blues! You sleep for most of the day, but we get a few hours here and there of your smiling face. You typically nurse every 3 hours during the day and every 4 hours at night. Between nursing, burping and a diaper change, our nursing sessions still take right about an hour each time. You're not on any set schedule yet. Some mornings we're up when Daddy leaves (9 am) and others we get up around 11 am. It all depends on how your night was and how hungry you are!

We have been battling with COLIC and it is no fun! I say its no fun for us but you are getting the worst of it. Some days are better than others...one day you'll sleep all day and you wont make a peep and others your crying and fussing every 30-45 minutes it seems like. We are trying to burp you more frequently and keep you in your bouncer to help with your tummy. I hope you know that we are trying everything we can to help you through this stage and pray it runs its course sooner than later. It breaks our hearts to listen to you cry at the top of your lungs and know that we've done everything we can to help.

You love to be held and the Dr said that we can't spoil you during this phase so we are holding, rocking and bouncing you A LOT! During the days if your being fussy and crying, I'll lay you on my chest and you fall fast asleep (melts my heart!). When Chris gets home from work, he swings and bounces you in his arms and you look up at him with the sweetest look on your face. We are soaking up this time with you right now because before we know it you will be crawling all over the place!

We are completely in LOVE and can't wait to see how you grow over the next month!
